Thai Boxing Training - Schedule | Morning Session
Our Muay Thai training starts every day in the morning, before the heat of the tropical sun takes hold of Koh Tao, Thailand. We begin with a short run in the nearby hills to wake up your body and ready it for action. This is followed by some stretching to keep your muscles supple and extend your range of movement. Then we'll move onto skipping rope for a few minutes to improve your footwork and speed.
Once warmed up properly, we'll begin the Thai boxing training with some bag work- 3 to 5 minute rounds of punching, kicking, kneeing and elbowing a kick bag will increase your stamina and power.
Afterwards, we'll progress into some pad training with the Muay Thai trainers. They'll be wearing shin, stomach and hand pads and will direct you on proper technique and stance. This part of the training helps to improve your range-finding and increases speed, mobility and reaction time. You'll do multiple 3-5 minute rounds with the trainers depending on your goals and conditioning.
Clinch training will follow. Here you practice close up knee strikes and elbow techniques as well as grappling foot work for 10-30 minutes depending on strength and fitness. As a cool down, we will finish up each Thai Boxing training session with some light shadow-boxing, sit ups to strengthen stomach muscles and stretching. This will increase flexibility and help to stop cramps and torn muscles. If your objective is to fight, we'll send you off for another run to further increase your stamina.
